We're so sorry to hear that this has happened.  We are providing a few additional steps to follow that will help in your search. Please join our facebook group at 911 Parrot Alert (Official) and do the following as soon as possible.

1.  Please be sure to file a police report with the local authorities as soon as possible as it is important to have this incident documented. We're also attaching 911 Parrot Alert’s Search & Retrieve Protocol which provides additional guidance on what to do and how to search for your bird.  It can be downloaded at

2. Please sign up with and get an urgent stolen message posted to nextdoor a free social networking service which allows you to connect with and alert your neighborhood and community.

3. Please post to 911parrotalert.com and also the databases located on 911 Parrot Alert’s Resource page which are the most frequented for lost, found & stolen birds at
resourcesforlostfoundparrots.blogspot.com/p/lost-found-bird-databases.html.

4. Please get a stolen ad posted in the ‘lost & found’, ‘pet’ and 'for sale' sections to craigslist.

5. Please notify and frequently check with local vets, shelters, animal control, rspca and rescues in your area in case the bird is turned in.

6. Fliers can be made directly from the resource page which can be printed and shared to other lost and found Facebook pages, Instagram, Nextdoor and any other online site.

7. Beware of Scams: Unfortunately, there are some who like to prey on owners with missing pets. If you ever receive a text stating your bird has been found, but a verification code is needed - please block the number immediately. Do Not Ever Send A Code.
