Keep in mind not everyone has social media so please distribute hard copies of fliers within your neighborhood, local area, and community. Please follow the steps located within these pages as the material provides direction to help guide and assist in your search for your missing bird. Please do the following and join Avian Alert - US, UK, CA, AU and 911 Parrot Alert's facebook groups as soon as possible.
1. Please download, print and follow the guidelines in the Search & Retrieve Protocol for birds which is an important document that will assist in your search. This document provides guidance on what to do and how to search for your bird along with information for retrieving your bird once spotted. What To Do If Your Bird Is Found In A Tree

2. Please sign up with and get an urgent lost message posted to nextdoor a free social networking service which will allow you to connect with and alert your neighborhood.

3. Please post to the databases and websites located on the Resources for Lost and Found Parrots site which are the most frequented for lost and found birds at resourcesforlostfoundparrots.blogspot.com/p/lost-found-bird-databases.html.
* Remember to keep leg band/ring numbers private and confidential. Do not disclose this information publicly on social media, databases, fliers as this is used to identify your bird and finders will require proof of ownership of a found bird by matching the band numbers.
4. Please get a lost ad posted in both the ‘lost & found’ and ‘pet’ sections to craigslist.

5. Please notify and frequently check local vets, shelters, animal control, rspca, and rescues in your area in case your bird is found and turned in. Please check shelters in your area daily as their stray hold period is only 3-7 days or less before birds are adopted out.
USA & Canada: Please submit a lost pet notice with the shelter and check 24PetConnect frequently.
6. Fliers can be made directly from the resource page which can be printed and shared to other lost and found Facebook pages, Instagram, Nextdoor and any other online site.

- If you ever receive a text stating your bird has been found, but a verification code is needed - please block the number Immediately. Do Not Ever Send A Code.
